2011 The Age Harvest Picnic at Hanging Rock
Sunday 27 February 2011, 9am – 5pm
On Sunday 27 February 2011, The Age Harvest Picnic will be held at Hanging Rock. Food and wine producers from all around Victoria are invited to take part in this event. The Harvest Picnic Foundation was established in 1988 as part of Victoria’s bicentennial celebrations. Its continued success is the result of the diverse and high quality producers that the event attracts each year.
Hanging Rock is approximately 45 minutes drive north-west of Melbourne. It is the ideal venue for an outdoor event as it is picturesque, and has ample room for car parking, a wide, open flat ground perfect for marquees, and is surrounded by big, shady, gum trees. The combination of food, wine, music, and the towering Rock, provide the perfect place to gather ‘gourmets’ together for a picnic of impressive proportions.
The Age Harvest Picnic at Hanging Rock will be a day for eating and drinking regional and seasonal produce in a great Australian setting. Cooking demonstrations, live music on stage, and children’s activities help to create an atmosphere that encourages visitors to linger and relax amongst all that is on offer.
